As a former attorney and now a United Church of Christ minister serving here on Kauai, I just wanted to add my congratulations to Daniel Hempey on this Hawaii Bar Assoc recognition and award for his courage and witness for social justice. Nothing could be more important in our time and I commend him for his willingness to “speak truth to power” and to act on his justic-based convictions.
